Important: Why Your Man Cheats and What to Do About It!

Many people believe that men are more likely to cheat on their partners than are women. What do you think?

Infidelity has become a big problem, causing untold anxiety, stress and misery. It is a risk that accompanies most, if not all, marriages.

After a couple has spent significant time together both partners can start having doubts, but statistically, men are more likely to outright cheat on their partners than are women. But why would this be so?

Exactly why are attached men more likely to be unfaithful than their partners? Betrayed women are in turmoil and miserable, but very few seek to comprehend the reasons that men become unfaithful and pursue sexual affairs with others.

It is heart-wrenching, you feel helpless and rejected, you feel your heart palpitating, you feel humiliated and wonder how many other people know. After all, you have tried to be an ideal partner, in spite of all the conflicting forces of job, money, kids etc. that relentlessly swirl around you.

He cheated anyway! If you are like many women, you have probably asked yourself where you went wrong.

What have I done? Why didn't I notice the signs of infidelity earlier? I feel so foolish.

Why do so many men become unfaithful to their wives and girlfriends? Is there one answer?

Many women become angry and confused when their cheating partners plead that, in spite of it, they still love them. Is male infidelity really all about frenzied sex instead of love or "strong liking?"

Maybe not; after all, many would argue that when men have sexual affairs, they mainly have emotional ones first and the sexual part comes later. Unfortunately, men often crave constant attention from their partners,

When insecure or demanding men seek attention from their partners and when it is not there, they sometimes start looking for it from others. Generally, it could be said that even if a guy is unfaithful, it does not necessarily mean that he does not love his spouse or partner.

Unfortunately, as unrealistic as it may be, he still wants to love her in the same way that he did when they were dating, but finds himself unable to do so. However, this is quite immature and does not justify infidelity.

Why do attached men cheat with women who may be married?

Why do guys become unfaithful with women who are themselves attached? Some authors argue that many men try to find an intimate relationship with a woman who is herself attached or married.

Now why on earth might that be true? For a very practical reason: Attached men find a relationship with a married woman more comforting because they both have the same amount to lose.

Therefore, it is unlikely that either will inform the others partner of the relationship if it goes sour. Having a relationship with a partner committed to someone else is rewarding for them because they can commiserate about their mutual problems openly, without having to worry about the other getting short, argumentative, angry or defensive with them.

Because of a lack of serious issues or hurts that usually exist in a marriage or even a longer term live-in relationship, they are able to listen openly and more non-judgmentally to each other.

Why do married, or otherwise attached, men cheat with younger females?

Most men enjoy the beauty that accompanies youth in these women. Also, after years of marriage partners start taking each other for granted, significantly reducing the manifested respect and attraction they have for one another.

Men enjoy the respect afforded them by younger women because they often seek their advice and value their opinions, thus building the self-esteem of those married, or otherwise committed men. If your partner is cheating and you want to save the marriage it is imperative that you seek help right away, either by yourself or with your partner if he will commit to it.
